Art heals us from C2C

The very first time I painted for a cause!!! Get involved to salute military organizations and learn to express yourself and commune with others with your mobile device and paint brush in hand.

The afternoon spent discovering the simplicity and complexity of art with acrylic paint gave me new interest during quarantine! I believe this #CREATIVERESILIENCYSOLUTION introduced to me virtually by the awesome team at the Los Angeles AFB Airman & Family Readiness Center saves lives.

For me, Art Uncorked program led by EFMP Director, Leah Long-Goss meant remembrance of the 22 lives lost daily isn’t in vain. Our comrades who fly free above the pine trees and for the glory of the American Flag are saluted in my work! They fought and gave their lives for such valor and honor to be valued forevermore.

It is a wonderful community partnership experience being a part of the Exceptional Family Member team during the first Virtual excursion via Zoom.

You’ll come to know your artistic talent exists and the relief therein once you join with others to create a story on canvas. Every painting is different and the process was so meditative, interactive, and stress relieving at once.

I brushed away pain and brought in hope as I painted today with those I trust can understand service and the finished canvas now hangs in my home office space for a lasting piece and hand-painted tribute.

Special thanks to LAAFB EFMP Director, Leah Goss and https://www.artuncorkedpainting.com/portfolio for making this event possible.
