Todd De Voe, is an emergency management scholar and contributing author who wanted to encourage emergency managers and academics to engage with the public after his honorable service as an 11th MEU Hospital Corpsman.

Additionally, Todd ha earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration among many other higher education certifications and is serving as the President of the International Association Association of Emergency Management Region 9 (IAEM R9) and is the Co-Founder of the Foundation for the Research and Advancement of Emergency Management (FRAEM).

Todd has enjoyed inspiring students in the realm of National Emergency Management as an Executive and Professor at UC Irvine with a concentration on Campus Crisis Management.

As an military trained, overachiever, Todd serves in the City of El Segundo. One of Todd’s roles at the Fire Department entails leading and refining the Community Emergency Response Team protocols and organization while engaging the public to join as volunteers when disaster may strike. The CERT program is a FEMA Nationally renowned program that is rich in instilling readiness and the ability to manage within a strong emergency strategic plan, act safely while reducing risks and saving lives, and finally to be able to recover quickly from catastrophes as they may inevitably occur.

Todd has raised his family well, achieved many accomplishments in his personal life and professional careers and is happy to share about his military highlights working with Marines and to introduce us to impactful mentors that have contributed to his overall success. Semper Fortis.
